Mark Sampson, trained in horology in London in the 1970's at Hackney Technical College. He then received an exclusive apprenticeship with the London Clock Shop and soon followed at world renown Asprey for whom he worked for 13 years. There he managed the antique clock department in Asprey's exclusive Bond Street showroom overseeing the purchases of key stock and restoring some of the finest timepieces that came onto the market at that time.
In I995 Mark left to establish his own clock business based in the rural Cotswolds. Herein lovely Gloucester he lovingly restored fine antique clocks as well as advising collectors regarding the purchases and of clocks through both auctions and private treaty sales.
During the last to years Mark has designed and handmade a number of clocks for private collectors in the UK, Middle East and North America. Handmade clocks take years to and develop. Commissioned clocks including the case and dial design are all unique. These bespoke clocks blend into a single individual crafted timepiece.
Mark takes great pride in manufacture of his clocks to ensure the continuation of the high standards for which clockmaking has been renowned; from the birth of the pendulum to the Victorian precision timekeeping of the 19th Century. Mark takes great effort to incorporate design features from the architecture that will surround the commission so that they will complement each other.
